SL & EC ; This is for you.

It officially has hit me that my best friend, Samantha- is getting married.
Why? Because I cried this morning. I'm hopeless & that's okay.

We've only known each other for over a year, but it feels so much longer than that. I have been through literally everything with this girl. Together, we have a way of knowing everything is going to be okay. Now, she's marrying the love of her life- Evan. Evan and her had their rocky moments, but truth is- whatever is meant to be will workout perfectly and that's what is happening for them. As her best friend, I am nothing, but happy for her.

I will be with you, Sam & we'll do this together- even 23497845934739 miles away.
You will always be my best friend and I will always love you unconditionally.

I know 110% that this is what she wants- after all the fights, long distance conversations, letters, and disagreements.. they're still madly in love with each other.

I know Sam will make the perfect wife. She has always been Evan's number one fan.

I know Evan will always take care of Sam. I've seen him take care of her in person & he makes her the happiest girl in the world, just by a simple letter.

My advice for the both of them?
It will get hard. There will be moments where you ask yourself- did I really do this? Why did I do this? & when those thoughts pop in your head- I hope you go back to day one. The day you both became a couple, inseparable and each others' best friend. Continue to fall more in love with each other every day. Keep your faith even when it's shaking. You have two supportive families who will never stop loving the both of you. You both have your fans- your best friends. We'll never stop loving you. The key here is how much love you have between the two of you and everyone who loves you. Love will get you through & it's all that matters. I love you two, forever.

Wonderstruck.

"Love is a beautiful word, and shouldn't be feared. I would never want ya to second guess ever saying it."

My response?

"I've said it a lot, but I don't regret saying it because at the time that was something I felt strongly & that's something no one can take away from me. People deserve to hear that they're loved. I think some people don't hear it enough."

-
This leads me to write what I look for in a man.

"Boys want to win your heart. Men want to treasure it." -Courageous

Someone who is compassionate.
-He loves his own family & learns to love mine.

Someone who is passionate.
-He has goals, plans & a future is willing to share them with me.

Someone who is faithful.
-He makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world.

Someone who is caring.
-He is willing to take care of me when I'm sick & wipe my tears when I'm sad.

-He fights for what he loves.

Someone who is funny.
-Once he makes me laugh, he is capable of owning my heart.

Someone who is willing to make sacrifices.

-He loves with 110% of his heart. It takes two to make a relationship work.

Someone who is strong.
-He catches me when I fall.

Someone who is willing to go to church with me.
-My faith is a big part of my life. It's something I can't give up or change.

Someone who is willing to go to crazy places & vacations with me.
-He is willing to attend Black Friday Shopping in Wisconsin or Disneyworld with my family.

Someone who is aware that the little things mean the most.
-He texts me, surprises me, and makes sure I know that I am thought about.

Someone who is patient.
-He takes his time with me. He is willing to wait and listen.

Someone who isn't trying to take advantage of me.
-My virginity is not something that I'm just throwing away.

Someone who gives advice and is encouraging.
-In a relationship, we must build each other up every day.

-He is willing to be sarcastic and maybe, sometimes rude (in a playful manner).

Someone who is honest.
-If he isn't honest, he isn't worth it.

Someone who is respectful.
-He respects me, his mother, his elders, and most importantly- my father.
If you want to one day ask for my hand in marriage, my daddy is the one you're asking first.

Someone who is determined.
-He is a hard worker in all he does.

Someone who has dreams.
-He shares his dreams with me & allows me to help in whatever way that I can.

Someone who enjoys public display of affection.
-He wants the world to know I'm his girl and isn't afraid of showing it. Anywhere.

Someone who is calm.
-He can relax me when I'm stressing out over nothing.

Someone who never gives up.
-When we get in a fight, he wants to fix it- not get even.

Someone who can secretly be five sometimes.
-Nothing is hotter than a boy who will color or watch Disney movies with me.

Someone who is a leader.
-He is admired and a good person.

Someone who has an incredible personality.
-He is never boring and shines in everything he does.

Someone who is fearless & willing to love me no matter what it takes.
-Together, we can conquer the world.

Someone who looks like Zac Efron.

Don't Stop Believing

Sometimes I think I take life too seriously and other days, I don't take life serious enough. I understand that I am young and have plenty of years ahead of me, but I don't want to miss an opportunity.

Lately, I've been scared of falling in love. I don't want to waste time with the wrong person. I don't want to give all I've got to find it all thrown away. I understand that all guys aren't the same, but we'll see if someone can prove that to me and sweep me off my feet.

I'm honestly not looking for a relationship right now or willing to settle down. If someone came along and changed everything, maybe- but right now, I'm just doing me.

I did awesome my first semester of college then fell apart during my second semester. I'm not only embarrassed of myself, but disappointed. I made a promise to myself to focus on what's important. I could care less in high school and I never want to gain that mentality ever again, especially now that I'm in college.

Besides gaining focus of what is important, I've recognized things that make me really happy..

  • Conversations with Rob
-He understands me better than most. I can always count on him and love hearing his opinion.
  • Glee!
-It's my new addiction. I mean c'mon.. Hello Finn & Noah! I secretly wish my life was a musical.
  • Slurpees
-I've been drinking at least two a day with my official diagnosis of bronchitis.
  • Notes on my receipts when I waitress
-It's encouraging. It's the little things that make me happy.
  • Neon shorts
    -Enough said.
  • All my new friends at Scramblers
-Regardless of random kitchen melt-downs, we are a family and family sticks together.
  • The colors: purple & blue
-I'm obsessed with them! They're cool colors and I just enjoy them. Don't judge me! :)
  • Red Hair
-I'm sticking with it this time. I don't know why I even changed it.
  • Blue Eyes
-I'm a sucker for boys with blue eyes.
  • Second Chances
-You individuals know who you are. Please don't make me regret it!
  • Sam & Evan
-Ev left for the Army and Sam has been his biggest fan. I want a love like theirs.
  • Gummy Worms
-My brother just bought me some & I'm stuffing my face. Get over it.

Spring classes, Kalahari, The Avengers, Alexa's play and the Mother/Daughter banquet are all this month!
Let's see what God has in store for me this month.. let's hope for lots of flowers! ;)

Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star?

I just wanted to mention how much I admire strong couples and their beautiful, relationships and most importantly- trust & love. I look at young women like Allyce and see her still head over heels for a man- her husband, miles & miles away fighting for our country, regardless of living a few days or even months without him. I see Casey counting down the days, but still having the time of her life. I swear time flew by & that boy was back to holding her for a week or two. Not once had Casey ever doubted her relationship, not once had Allyce complained. I see high school sweet-hearts like Becca & Miles and Chelsea & Justin, who are still young & going strong. Then there's high school sweet-hearts like Carla & Colin who have been together for years and are getting married so soon, it's crazy- the good kind of crazy.

There's so many people who throw "I love you" around like it's a mass text, so many people who throw it all away, so many people who forget what love is really about. Whenever I forget, I think about the couples who I mentioned and how imperfect their relationship is, but how perfect their love is. It's real and I wish people would open their eyes to see that & take notes. I know I have. I won't deny that at all.

Love is...
-putting the other person before yourself
-wanting the person to be happy, regardless of your own happiness
-patient; always waiting and taking time, never rushing
-being yourself; not hiding anything
-trusting the other person to not break your heart
-loyal; your his one and only- there are no doubts
-silly; being able to laugh together at everything and even each other
-work; always willing to fix the problems at hand without leaving each other
-communication; openness & having no secrets
-happiness; the smile that will never wipe off your face
-beautiful; like the stars and the moon, nothing is more beautiful than being in love
-falling in love with each other over and over again, every day
-looking past someone's imperfections and still wanting to be with them
-fearless; no doubts, no regrets, just diving in head first to whatever is throw your way
-encouraging; always lifting the other person up
-funny; no matter what mood- you can make them laugh & even laugh at yourself
-thrilling; even if you're just holding hands
-confident; always believing in the other person
-strength; you'd rather fight with that certain someone than kiss someone else
-romantic; being head over heels every time you kiss
-willing; if you don't want to do something- you'll do it anyway for that certain someone
-forgiving; continuing to love them even if they hurt you

The list goes on & on, I just wanted to write this blog because I want people to know that there is hope, there is a fairy-tale love out there and that there is a certain someone out there for you. Don't settle for less than you deserve.

You find a way to replace my pain with love.

I think it must be the rain falling on my rooftop, puddles in the pavement, splashes from the tires of cars driving by, that has made me want to sit down, reflect on my life & talk to God.

This time, last year, I was sitting in Psychology class. It was my senior year and first year of not having my boyfriend, Tommy, at school with me. I was nervous about it, but God gave me the most beautiful, three friends a girl could ever ask for- Chelsea, Becca and Kristen. The times that I share with them are probably all in my top ten favorite high school memories.

The year before that, I was a junior- figuring out who I was and supporting my boyfriend, Tommy, as he conquered his senior year of high school. It was probably my hardest year. I lost my best friend the summer after Junior year. It destroyed me. My heart was in pieces on the hospital floor, saying bye to his handsome face. I had Melissa & Tommy though, who loved me- even when it was hard.

2 years ago, I was a sophomore. I was struggling with who I was at my old school. I couldn't figure out why I was at school. I didn't care about anything. I had Timmy by my side at school and that's all that really mattered to me besides barely passing my classes. I had a boyfriend, Austin, who I faced some struggles with in my life. The struggles weren't his fault. They were just challenges thrown my way that I had to face or runaway from. I kept choosing to run. I kept running and running until I ran into Tommy- who changed it all.

Today, I'm a high school graduate & freshman in college- living my life fearlessly. I may not have the same people in my life that I did in the past, but I am thankful for every memory that I've had with them. God has a way with situations. They're handcrafted and beautifully made. He has all the details painted out. I have found where I belong.

My life & feelings in pictures.

Everyone has their own definition of fearless. I think fearless is living life without those doubts, fears and negative thoughts holding you back. I think fearless is making someone realize how special they are even though they end up only being in your life for a short period of time. I think fearless is leaning in for a kiss despite what people say about that person. Fearless is finding your classes on the first day of college, even though you can't find a parking spot. Fearless is changing your life around for the better even if it means leaving certain people behind. Fearless is letting go of people who hurt you, despite wanting them in your life. Fearless is getting your blood drawn in hopes of getting better. Fearless is falling in love with someone & not judging them based on past relationships. I want to continue to live fearlessly.

I've got whatever it is.

I can officially say that I am a full-time college student!
The past two days have been the best due to so many various reasons..

-"Stomping the yard"
-Dropping off a slurpee in the middle of the night
-Picking up hours like crazy
-Looking at condos & appts
-Heart to heart conversations
-Meeting new faces
-Meeting college requirements through testing
-Finishing Highschool, for good- even though I already graduated, haha
-My brother, just being awesome & my best friend
-Pretty Little Liars & Teen Mom tonight

:)

Best friend's 21st birthday this Friday! Yay!
